Robert Downey Jr. – Layers Of Makeup & Prosthetic Hair
To accurately portray the Oscar-winning actor in the comedy hit Tropic Thunder, Robert Downey Jr. had to transform into a black man. For actors, comic portrayals can be challenging because they require them to leave their ego at home if th done correctly. Fortunately, Downey Jr. took it in stride and did not mind donning layers of makeup to transform himself into the black comic character. Because Robert Downey Jr. is almost unrecognizable, the team that worked on the transformation deserves praise.

For Perlman’s portrayal of Hellboy, make-up artist Jake Garber spent a lot of time with him. Except for his lower lip, the drastic physical transformation included many prosthetics that covered his entire face. Even though we are only familiar with Hellboy in red, the transformation included five additional colors for shading and face contours. A skull cap and four strands of hair were also included in the package.
