John Travolta – Gained 100 Pounds & Spent 5 Hours Per Day On Makeup
For the role of Edna Turnblad in Hairspray, John Travolta had to not only undergo a physical transformation, but he also had to “become a woman.” He had to not only dress up as a woman, but he also had to gain 100 pounds to fit into Edna’s plus-size body. He spent five hours a day at the makeup artist’s to become a carbon copy of her, and he took dancing and singing lessons before filming.

Johnny Depp – Hair Dye, Hair Removal & Face Prosthetics
Forget about the transformation into Jack Sparrow; Johnny Depp’s portrayal of the Boston mafia boss in Black Mass is far superior. It’s one thing to wear foundation, but Depp wanted to look like the mafia boss, so he readily agreed to have his hair dyed. Depp’s makeup artists also plucked his hair and eyebrows one by one to achieve a balding look. Aside from the “hair thing,” the transformation took 22 hours and included many other features such as a prosthetic.
