A well-known French fashion designer, Pierre Cardin founded his own fashion house in 1950. His designs are centered around geometric shapes and have a very avant-garde look to them. To this day his designs are famous worldwide.

ALICIA ALONSO, 96 YEARS OLD
Havana native Alicia Alonso is a famous ballerina. Her passion for dancing blossomed into her successful career. Despite her struggles due to her vision problems, she persevered and worked hard to become the woman she is today. At one point she was instructed to stay in bed for a year after an eye surgery and was not allowed to move. After that, she returned right back to the stage where she belonged. Later on, she founded a ballet school, one that became Ballet Nacional De Cuba.
