HUGH DOWNS, 97 YEARS OLD
A retired American TV host, news anchor, broadcaster, TV producer, and author, Hugh Downs is best known for his role on NBC’s Today during the 60s and 70s. After serving in the US army in WWII, he joined the NBC radio network. Besides from his broadcasting work, Downs was a composer, having hosted the PBS showcase for classical music in the 1990s. He even made a few film appearances such as A Global Affair and Nothing By Chance.

HERMAN WOUK, 103 YEARS OLD
Herman Wouk is a famous American author. His books have been translated into 27 languages after they became best-sellers. As a result, he has won multiple awards for his excellent writing. He writes both fiction and non-fiction. A few of his books even became Broadway shows and movies. He also kept a diary since 1973 all the way through to 2008, when he offered all of them to the Library of Congress. He had over 100 diaries by 2012. Since he used them to reference dates and facts in his writings, he had a hard time parting from them, so as a compromise he agreed to have them digitally scanned so he could keep the original copies.
