Her two talents were the reason she was able to land great gigs like the romcom Viva Las Vegas and the comedy film Bye Bye Birdie. Vera Lynn, better known as “The Forces’ Sweetheart,” is an English pop singer-songwriter. Aside from her musical talents, she has also dabbled in acting. She received her nickname because her musical career began during the Second World War, and she was asked to sing to comfort and entertain the soldiers. Interestingly, she recently released an album entitled ‘Vera Lynn 100’ in commemoration of her 100th birthday! It is already incredible that the centenarian had it in her to release an album at that age, though it is even more impressive that it reached the top 3 spot on the charts!
