She honed her singing and tap dancing skills there, and she later started starring in musical theatre shows before making her way to the big screen. As a young girl, she was convinced that she must have a learning disability since she was not performing well at school. However, it turned out that the Tony and Emmy Award winner has been suffering from conductive hearing loss the whole time! Her diagnosis motivated her into becoming a deaf people rights advocate, and her work in this cause outlasted her Hollywood career.
GEORGE H. W. BUSH, 94 YEARS OLD
Did you know that the 41st President of the United States also worked as an aviator and a businessman? When the Second World War was ongoing, he joined the Navy as a naval aviator. He did many things as the former head of state of the most powerful nation in the world, some bad, some good. Among other things, he helped launch the George Bush Presidential Library in Texas A&M University. The younger generation probably remembers him best as the father of the 43rd POTUS.

There is yet another nonagenarian US President who made it to our list! Aside from George H. W. Bush, the 94-year-old former President Jimmy Carter is still alive and kicking. As the 39th POTUS, his biggest accomplishment has to go be his foreign policy. Up to this day, he continues to fight for human rights. He is believed to be worth somewhere around $7 million. A lot of people were heartbroken when he was diagnosed with metastatic cancer, though we were relieved that he survived it!
DAWN WELLS, 79 YEARS OLD
We already mentioned her earlier when we talked about her costar, though Mary Ann Summers of Gilligan’s Island is deserving of a spot of her own. Dawn Wells has retired from acting, though she continues to be passionate about it. After all, she still takes the time to help in local theatre projects and even handles acting classes. Now 79 years old, she lives in Driggs, Idaho and spends her days running a clothing brand for disabled people called the Wishing Wells Collections.
VERA LYNN, 101 YEARS OLD
Vera Lynn, better known as “The Forces’ Sweetheart,” is an English pop singer-songwriter. Aside from her musical talents, she has also dabbled in acting. She received her nickname because her musical career began during the Second World War, and she was asked to sing to comfort and entertain the soldiers. Interestingly, she recently released an album entitled ‘Vera Lynn 100’ in commemoration of her 100th birthday! It is already incredible that the centenarian had it in her to release an album at that age, though it is even more impressive that it reached the top 3 spot on the charts! GENE REYNOLDS, 95 YEARS OLD
Gene Reynolds has always been a good-looking fellow and he remains so even at the age of 94! We sure are lucky that his handsome face has graced the American big screen and small screen. Although he was doing a great job at acting, he had a short-lived career. It all came to an end for him when he received a letter from the army recruitment office. He spent several years in service, and he did eventually come back to the industry. This time, however, he focused on directing, producing, and creating the hit show M*A*S*H. The 94-year-old man received many awards in the industry, and he must be living a comfortable life with the success of his TV series!

Marge Champion is the person responsible for the dance choreography Snow White performed in the animated film Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. She was able to make a fortune with her dancing skills, and we bet she is enjoying a stress-free retirement, now that she is 98 years old.

Besides for singing, he also acted for a while and starred in films like Bright Road and Carmen Jones. After serving in the US army in WWII, he joined the NBC radio network. Besides from his broadcasting work, Downs was a composer, having hosted the PBS showcase for classical music in the 1990s. He even made a few film appearances such as A Global Affair and Nothing By Chance.
HERMAN WOUK, 103 YEARS OLD
Herman Wouk is a famous American author. His books have been translated into 27 languages after they became best-sellers. As a result, he has won multiple awards for his excellent writing. He writes both fiction and non-fiction. A few of his books even became Broadway shows and movies. He also kept a diary since 1973 all the way through to 2008, when he offered all of them to the Library of Congress. He had over 100 diaries by 2012. Since he used them to reference dates and facts in his writings, he had a hard time parting from them, so as a compromise he agreed to have them digitally scanned so he could keep the original copies.

Dick Van Dyke has become a recognizable Hollywood figure throughout his successful career. He is known, of course, for his acting, singing, dancing, and comedic appearances. James Lipton is an American writer, lyricist, and actor. He is the executive producer, host, and also the writer for the TV series Inside the Actors Studio. He wanted to make good use of the knowledge he had gained working in Hollywood, so he created a three-year program at Pace University. The program is meant for aspiring actors to be able to learn from the best in the business in order to advance their careers. Originally, Lipton was studying to become a lawyer and did some acting on the side to finance his studies. But over time he ended up remaining in the acting world, becoming a producer and a writer among other things.

David Attenborough is still working in his field today as a broadcaster and naturalist. Currently a writer and presenter for the BBC Natural History Unit, he began his career as an editor for children’s books in a publishing company. Before that, he had served in the Royal Navy in North Wales. After his editing job, he took another position at BBC as a producer. Only later on in his career did he begin to work as a naturalist. The point where he started working with nature, was when he presented and produced a 3-part series called Animal Patterns.

John Astin is a famous actor with a successful career in TV, movies, and plays he toured with. Now he is best known for his role as Gomez Addams on the TV show The Adams Family. These days he’s teaching acting and directing at the Theater Arts and Studies Department at Johns Hopkins University.

Goldie Hawn got her breakthrough role in the TV sketch comedy show, Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In. Soon, she soared to movie stardom with her Academy Award and Golden Globe win for her comedic role in Cactus Flower. After that, she became America’s rom-com leading lady, playing in movies like There’s a Girl in My Soup, Seems Like Old Times, and the mega-success Private Benjamin. Just like many other stars, Goldie is still active in the movie business today, recently appearing alongside Amy Schumer in Snatched.

With a successful career spanning over six decades, the Goddes of Pop not only dominated the music industry, but she also has a couple of Academy Awards and Golden Globe wins under her belt. She first became popular in 1965 with her hit, ‘I Got You Babe’ with Sonny Bono. She went on to hit superstar levels with her solo career later on. In the late 1970s, she was raking in as much as $300,000 a week for her concert residency in Las Vegas. In addition, she played in critically acclaimed movies like Silkwood, Mask, and Moonstruck, proving that there was nothing she couldn’t do. Today, she still goes on tours and takes acting roles every now and again.
ROBERT REDFORD, 84 YEARS OLD
Robert Redford debuted in the early 1960s, but it wasn’t until 1969 that the world truly fell in love with his charming smile and rugged good looks. He played in movies like Butch Cassidy, the Sundance Kid, and All the President’s Men. Throughout his successful 60-year career, he’s won plenty of awards including an Academy Award for Lifetime Achievement in 2002. Not to mention, he’s an Oscar-winning director as well as the founder of the Sundance Film Festival. In 2018, he starred in The Old Man & the Gun.
JAMIE LEE CURTIS, 62 YEARS OLD
Who doesn’t know Jamie Lee Curtis? The iconic ’70s “scream queen” got her big break starring as Laurie Strode in the movie Halloween in 1978. After that, she’s played in many different horror movies like The Fog and Prom Night before moving onto roles in movies like A Fish Called Wanda, True Lies, and Freaky Friday. Nowadays, she’s still acting. Most recently, she played in the 2019 movie, Knives Out.
DUSTIN HOFFMAN, 83 YEARS OLD
After he had his breakthrough role in the blockbuster The Graduate in 1967, Dustin Hoffman had an almost 60-year-long career in Hollywood. He’s starred in decade-defining movies such as All the President’s Men, Kramer vs. Kramer, and Tootsie. He’s been nominated for seven Oscars and 13 Golden Globes. Of course, he’s not stopping anytime soon. He’s still acting and has appeared in movies like Little Fockers and Kung Fu Panda in addition to all kinds of TV shows.

Olivia Newton-John is by far most famous for her role as Sandy in Grease. As we all know by now, she’s gone on to become a successful singer-songwriter. She’s won four Grammy Awards so far! From “I Love You, I Honestly Love You” to “Physical” she’s made her mark in the world of pop music. As for today, she’s been touring regularly and even had a Flamingo Las Vegas residency back in 2014.
JACK NICHOLSON, 83 YEARS OLD
The legendary actor has been acting for over 60 years now. Jack Nicholson made his claim to fame when he played in the movie Chinatown. Since then, he’s appeared in many other movies like The Shining, The Witches of Eastwick, and of course, Batman. As a matter of fact, he’s the most nominated male actor in Academy Award history! He’s been nominated 12 times. Over the last few years, Jack has been slowing things down. His most recent role was in the 2010 comedy How Do You Know.
