Bryant told DeGeneres that he retired not because his body won’t let him play anymore, but because he just doesn’t want to anymore, and that he’s ready to move on from playing basketball. He mentioned that he will still be playing in his leisure time because after all, they have their basketball court in their house, his kids play too!

DeGeneres asked Bryant if he would be happy to see his kids play basketball competitively. He replied with “If they wanted to.” And sadly, it was on the way to a basketball game of Gianna’s that their helicopter had crashed, which is a disappointment as she had been a young rising star in the sport.
