Adam Silver (NBA Commissioner) also released a statement on behalf of the whole organization on the same day. The statement read “The NBA family is devastated by the tragic passing of Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna. For 20 seasons, Kobe showed us what is possible when remarkable talent blends with absolute devotion to winning.”

Kobe’s Legacy
The statement continued to talk about how great of a player Kobe is, mentioning all of his legendary achievements such as five NBA championships, an NBA MVP award, 18 NBA All-Star selections and two Olympic gold medals. The note also said that Kobe would be remembered most for being an inspiration for people all around the world to pick up a basketball.
